About our flies : What sets our flies apart from "the rest".

We only sell "proven flies" that consistently take steel head and trout . Being we live within a stones throw from world class steel head / trout fishing let us test the flies and  leave the majority of the guess work out of  your tributary fishing situation. Under each fly description you will be instructed of when the optimal conditions exist for use of  the fly . Our flies are tied with a "double whip finish" this eliminates the use of head cement ( a chemical used to strengthen  knots ) without sacrificing durability.  The chemical flavor head cement adds to flies sometimes causes fish to turn away from an offering. We sell quality hand tied flies that go from our vice  to your fly box . We stand behind our product  at your request we will either refund your money or replace the product if you have any issues with our flies.  Respectfully ,

White in color with sparkle dub used as body material . This fly will produce when nothing else works especially in heavy flows and off colored water . There is no rym or reason why this color is fast becoming very productive !

Articulated Stone fly - #14 Spring Elk Creek Olive Body / brown biots / brown leg hackle

Olive in color this fly mimics stone flies floating through the water column as found locally on the Erie tributaries in springtime. This is our local favorite steel jaw loosen-er with an extremely natural presentation . If  you've have trout with  lock jaw in front of you this is an excellent solution to the problem!  The flapping action of it's tail antagonizes fish into striking . Fish these  either with or without an indicator at any level of the water column . Works well in clear or "greened up" water. Catches fish in all flows from slow to fast  .... I classify these differently than streamers specifically tied for salmon and steel head. This is due to steel head and salmon wanting a larger profile with more movement than the smaller inland trout species.
