Starting out of Conneaut , OH at 10 AM we headed for the 10 line in search of easy pickings and thats exactly what awaited our arrival . 12 fish were culled with one throw back by 2 PM ; with 2 eyes lost at the boat and 3 hard fighters that got off prior to us laying our eyes on them . At one point we had a triple on but only managed 2 of the three in the boat .
The early waves were 2-4 ft then it calmed out to 2 ft rollers and let us relax and take in the day . A notable feat was a white bass and a 6 lb 10 ounce walleye caught on the same crawler harness ! ( pictured below ) This was the first I've ever seen this occurance . Thanks Mike for the company and what a day we had ! The fish fought harder today than I can ever remember . This brings our 2010 Lake Erie Walleye total thus far to 321 fish in the boat .
We fished 70-71 feet of water ( 10 miles out and 3 miles West of (Conneaut , OH ) . Cookie dipseys on a 1 setting back 260 - 300 and big dipseys on a 3 setting back 180 ft ... Fish holding 45 - 60 down . Trolling speed was 2.5 MPH East / 2.3 MPH West in the 2-4 ft waves ( SW Wind ) and 2.3 MPH East / 2.1 MPH West in the 2 ft waves (after change to West Wind ) ...
