Hog Sauce

Rich , Kevin , Justin , and Don from Beaver / Washington Counties , PA joined us for an excellent day on the water . The numbers of fish have been decreasing but the size has been phenominal ! Don boated our largest fish in three years with a dead weight of 10lb 15 ounces ; which would have been around 11.5lb live ! The 32" fish was the highlight of our trip with one other citation walleye boated at 8lb 3 ounces ( 29 inches ) !
The gianormous fish gave everyone a thrill that quickly built to celebratory yells from all.

Thank you fellas for coming aboard and the memories we built together . The bite was a little more sporatic than normal but we ended up with 11 fish of quality size yeilding 14lbs of deboned fillets .

Joe , Alan , and family from Cranberry Twp. / Pittsburgh , PA enjoyed Lake Erie with a little cooperation from the weather gods . Due to the "Ashtabula" Walleye Tourney we Started the day waiting for over an hour to launch at Conneaut Harbor . As we hit the lake in 2-4ft waves the fishing remained slow until the latter half of the day ; when the lake decided to lay down .

The kids did an excellent job showing us how the catching was done ! Another wonderful outing and fulfillment for all as we observed the youngsters smiling with taught lines .... 15 eyes were boxed and yeilded 17 lbs of deboned fillets . Great haul folks can't wait to have ya back !

I want to also note thanks to my Mate hans on the catching on the dipsy rod the captain dropped over board ... <>< <>< <><

Awakening Friday morning with visions of white caps on the lake and more Walleye in my head ; we departed the harbor at 7:30 AM to try and repeat the previous days' haul . In two to four foot waves it took a couple hours longer than anticipated . The captain had some growing pains losing an 8 lb+ fish at the back of the boat . WHile I tried my best to get under the fish it was in and out of the net in seconds . The fish blew my hand tied crawler harness apart instantaniously as its head came above water and beads covered my face . I guess this was a bitter sweet way for the fish to get back at meat hungry me !

An awesome bounty on a not so splendid day (18 fish) 3 full tickets were filled at 2:30 PM . The day seemed to last forever due to the constant barage from the waves in a 20-25 knot SE-E wind . John & Tom thank you again for the excellent company !

On Thursday the fate was sealed for the unexpecting fish beneath us . A calm lake allowed us to run maximum lines and cover a 200 foot swath behind the boat . Tom & John joined me to partake in some the best walleye dredging of the season . We dropped lines at 7:30 Am and did not quite sweating out the action until 11:30 AM .

John being a former charter captain decided to show us another trick from his arsenal dislodging a spoon from the down rigger into a school of fish suspended just above ; after three quick jerks the rod doubled over sealing the deal on 3 man limit ...

After a lunch break and noon swim ; refreshed and revitalized we headed for the fish cleaning table... Another excellent day on the lake with more quality company and increasing overall fish size ! The fillets of 18 fish yielded 27 lbs ..... Now is THE time to be on the water if you enjoy catching rather than fishing !

On Wednesday good company joined me Aram , Camelot , Chris , Urim , and the boys from Indiana had an excellent day on a calm lake . My timber customers stacked the fish like "cord wood" in the yard once again ! Thier largest fish tipped the scale at 8lb 3 ounces and total weight of deboned fillets was 25lbs .

This day was quite humbling to me as we missed alot of fish through short strikes ; however our end of day tally was still impressive . 22 walleye were boxed including 1 steelhead and a quality cooler of fish averaging 6 lbs ! Congratulations on a job well done . Thank you for your help and commradere on board fellas .

Chrome has arrived

We began the day from Conneaut Harbor at 7AM with high hopes of getting into some fish . A slow start on the walleye until 10 AM when fish started flying in the boat until noon . A few flurries of walleye off the boards and a persistent deep bite lead to 19 eyes boxed by 3PM .

Haunting my dreams has been visions of steelhead and finally they have moved into the first trench . Two steelhead were boxed 1 at 4 lb and the other 6lb . Both hen "chromers" fell victim to a purple muffin challenger spoon off our downrigger 52-62 feet down in 72 FOW . This trip yielded 1 large walleye that tipped the scale at 8lbs 12ounces and 31" long . A fish worthy of a Certificate from OHDNR . Congrats Dom and Brandon on some nice fish and zero lost at the boat great job . A special thanks to Bruce for bringing the boys aboard and allowing us to share in your memories . <>< <>< <><
